// A Little Cat, Cancer, and a Cry for Help//
On Monday, May 21st, I discovered a large, baseball-sized lump on my cat, Finn’s right leg.
For almost 3 years, I have lived and loved this little cat, as so many of the people I know have too. I could write for miles about how she is the sweetest, kindest creature anyone has ever encountered, but if you’ve met her, you already know.
Last week she was diagnosed with a fibro sarcoma, and I was given the news that the only way to save Finn’s life would be to amputate her right leg.
It’s lucky that she is so young. It’s not as lucky that the vet suggested that this cancer is due to an allergic reaction to a rabies shot she received long ago, or that this means she will have to re-learn how to walk and engage with the world she so loves.
I am going to do whatever I can.
But vet bills are expensive.
I am extremely lucky to have so many incredible family members, teachers, friends and co workers in my life. And I’m not very good at asking for help, but sometimes things happen where you need a little bit more support then you thought you ever would.
I have created a PayPal page where you can donate to the mounting expenses this process has incurred, which include anything from radiographs, to the actual amputation, to the 24 hour care she will need over the next few days. If you feel like donating, you can do so HERE.
Any and all support means the world to us during this trying time.
I love you all.
